Ready for Some Fun?- You’re Invited to Sweet Market’s Grand Opening Celebration

Sweet Market Esso Grand Opening

We’re excited to announce that we’re finally ready to see everyone on July 31 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for our grand opening celebration! Scottish poet Robert Burns once wrote “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men, / Gang aft a gley,” meaning that despite our very best preparations, sometimes plans go awry. Such is the case when it comes to Sweet Market Esso’s Grand Opening Celebration. We’d hoped to host an event over eighteen months ago, but then the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and, well, in-person events just weren’t possible. The pandemic forced us to be patient, and now we’re ready to celebrate bigger and better than ever before! Consider this post your personal invitation to join us.

If you’re in Central Alberta this weekend, stop at Sweet Market Esso for some guaranteed fun!

Live Music

Country and classic rock group The Crossroads Band from right here in Red Deer is a four piece band, and will be providing live music all day long. It’s been a long while since we’ve been allowed to gather for live music events, and we’re so looking forward to some awesome energy from their vast collection of country, classic rock, and pop songs.

Cotton Candy

Alberta’s premier cotton candy maker, The Cotton Candy Shoppe, makes over 90 flavours of cotton candy in Fort Saskatchewan, and has generously provided 100 bags of cotton candy to giveaway. If you have a cotton candy aficionado in your life, be sure to let them know – they won’t want to miss out.

Pig Roast

All Seasons Pig Roast and Catering will be serving their specialty – roasted whole pig – for your enjoyment. Yes, that means to come with an empty tummy.

Children’s Entertainment

Rosco the Magic Clown, who also hails from right here in Red Deer, will be providing his signature mix of magic and comedy to entertain kids and adults alike. As Rosco says, “laughter brings us all together; and, by bringing smiles to countless Red Deer and Central Alberta faces, Rosco supports community.” We couldn’t agree more!

There will also be a variety of other giveaways and samples from local suppliers.

So, what do you say? Are you ready for some fun?
